Issues of regulatory compliance with the legislation on the protection of personal data are gaining momentum. Members of our company have been active in this field since the first appearance of relevant legislation at EU level since the 1990s, by participating in the creation and operation of the regulatory framework in Greece, especially in the field of electronic communications, but also in the organization of many companies in order to ensure proper compliance, thus combining the experience of implementing a new legislative framework first on the part of the regulator, and subsequently on the part of the company. This process continued throughout the decades that followed, culminating in the implementation of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Especially at this level, our members have undertaken the full support and harmonization with the new framework of large multinational groups in the banking and automotive field, the IT sector, as well as large retail chains in the market for pharmaceuticals and personal hygiene products, etc. Our experience extends to assisting in the design and compliance of business activities and operations with the applicable national and EU law, as well as to preventing and tackling of specific legal issues arising in regard to the implementation of the above rapidly evolving regulatory framework.
